Bobi Wine Says He Won't Return to Commercial Music Amid Political Pursuits

Robert Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, has stated that he will not be returning to commercial music.

In a recent live interview at One Love Beach Busabala, the singer-turned-politician said that he no longer has the time or platforms to pursue his music career.

Bobi Wine is focusing on his political career, which he began in 2017 when he contested and won as MP for Kyadondo East Constituency.

Bobi Wine stated that he does not regret his decision to join politics because it is a service aimed at improving the social and economic sectors of Uganda.

However, the Government's decision to block his shows in 2018 forced him to suspend his music career. Since then, he has been promoting his new-found career through songs.

Although Bobi Wine is stepping away from music, he acknowledged that his backup singer Nubian Li is taking a break from music and may still be interested in pursuing commercial music.

He also urged the public and media to stop comparing him with veteran musicians Bebe Cool and Jose Chameleone, stating that the debate ended when he joined elective politics.

Bobi Wine's decision to focus on politics may disappoint his fans, but it's clear that he is committed to improving his country through public service.

His music has been an integral part of his activism, and he has used it to raise awareness about social and political issues. While he may no longer be pursuing commercial music, Bobi Wine's influence on Uganda's music industry and political landscape will continue to be felt for years to come.
