Government Wants Zambian Musicians To Pay Back The K30 Million Loan

Very soon, we might see some of our entertainers sleep in jail, that is, incase the government does not change in its new ruling.

News coming in from the Zambia Ministry Of Youth & Sports confirms that, with effect from 31 January 2022, all Zambian musicians, entertainers, sportsmen and women who received a share of the Kwacha 30 Million from the then PF Government shall be required to pay back the said amount, said Mr Kangwa Chileshe, the Minister of Youth & Sports.

We have records and details of all artists who were given this money through the National Art Council on directives of former President Edgar Lungu. The money was paid out to the artists on 12^th August 2020. This was tax payers’ money, which was not accounted for, therefore, we need this money back. Any artist who fails to comply, shall be taken to court – the Minister added.

ZambianMusic.net has learned that, if the Minister’s statement is not altered, artists including Macky2, JK, Kayombo, Shanky, Mampi, Dambisa, Bobby East, Dandy Krazy, Chester etc will have to suffer the consequence.
